Trusting Your Inner Voice: This Month's Self-Coaching Exercise
As a reminder, this year I chose to live in gentleness and, every month, I'm inviting you to explore, with me, a new way to make it real.
After inner peace (January), the words we speak to ourselves with love (February), a less cluttered life (March), reconnecting with my body (April), honoring my emotional truth (May), setting even more boundaries (June), creating for and in joy (July), resting without having earned it (August), and gentle relationships (September), in October, I'm inviting myself, and you too, to something very simple to say, but not always easy to do: trusting your inner voice.
Not just listening to it now and then, when it suits us. Trusting it, really.

Why This Exercise Works
September taught me to observe myself more. What soothes me, what nourishes me, what overloads me, what hurts me. But observing is pointless if we don't believe what we feel.
It can be really hard to trust what we feel. Maybe because, one day, someone made us doubt. Maybe because we were surrounded by people who didn't support us, whatever we undertook.
And yet, we do believe in things we can't see. One day, we believed in Santa Claus, in the Tooth Fairy. You don't need to see something to believe in it. So why not believe in what we feel, which is very real?
Your inner voice often shows up as a small signal: a knot in the stomach, a sudden lightness, a tiredness that hits all at once. When we're used to listening to it, we sense almost right away that we're drifting from what matters to us. When we're less used to it, it takes a bit longer. But it's still perfectly possible.
And what if you got it wrong? You're allowed. You're also allowed to change your mind, and even to go back and pick up your path where you left it. That's not failure. Sometimes you step back to get a better running start.
October's Journaling Exercise: Trusting Your Inner Voice
This week, I'm giving you three simple steps.
Think back to a recent decision. Before your head stepped in with its arguments, what did your body tell you? A yes, a no, a doubt? Write it down just as it came, without tidying it up.
Ask yourself whose voice answered next. Yours, or someone else's? A criticism heard long ago, a remark that left a mark? These voices have no more power over you than the power you give them. You can thank them for wanting to protect you, then let them go.
Open your notebook and answer this question:
What is my inner voice already telling me that I don't yet dare to believe?
You don't need to write much. One sentence is enough. Often, it's the one we've known for a long time.
Why Journaling Stays With Me Every Month
If there's one constant this year, it's my notebook. Every month, it's what let me turn an intention into an action.
Journaling helped me choose my words with love in February, declutter my mind in March, name what I was feeling in May, set my boundaries in June, allow myself rest in August, and observe what soothes me in September.
Writing slows things down. Writing clarifies. Writing gives your inner voice a place to land, with no filter and no audience. And rereading, a few weeks later, often means discovering that we already knew.

To support you, I've imagined a whole collection: the Carnet de Notes Positives Madras & Colibris or Madras & Hibiscus for your daily sentence, the Journal Happy Moments Madras & Birds to keep track of your good moments, the Bullet Journal and the Carnet Great Ideas for your projects, the Agenda Positif 2026 to move forward gently, and the Marque-Pages Madras & Pearls so you never lose your page.
