Grieving: 5th birthday without my daughter.

GRIEVING - RESILIENCE - HAPPINESS
On September 5, 2023, my beautiful daughter Claire would have turned 23 years old.
Unfortunately, she left this world at 18 and only a few months, carried away by a sudden and spontaneous pulmonary embolism, on January 18, 2019.
This was the fifth time I had to celebrate her birthday without her. 😌
How did I celebrate the birthday of my daughter who is no longer there?
Well, I acted as if she were there and we spend the day “together” doing things she liked to do.
Listened to K-pop music 🎶.
Watched her favorite cartoons: Miraculous Ladybug, Assassination Classroom, Attack on Titans…
Bought yellow flowers 🌼, her favorite color.
Bought a French Opera cake, her favorite 🎂.
Bought grapefruit rosé 🍷, because she didn’t like champagne.
Went to the movies 🎞️, because it was her passion.
And wrote ✍🏽, her other passion.
And above all, I made myself beautiful 💄 and tried to smile 😁 all day long, because that’s how she liked to see me.
You’ve understood, that day, I was not there for anyone… except for my baby girl.
If you too are going through something like this, I encourage you to celebrate and honour the life of your loved ones in a similar way.
